Bios

Kathleen Piercy is a Registered Physical Therapist and Certified Pilates Instructor with over 15 years of experience in the rehabilitation of numerous orthopedic and neurological diagnoses. She received her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from California State University- Long Beach and her Master of Business Administration in 1997 from the University of Phoenix. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).  She received her Pilates Certification from Body Arts & Science International, Costa Mesa in 2002. She is recognized as a Gold Certified Pilates Instructor through the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA).  Piercy Pilates holds a business membership in good standing with the PMA.  Kathleen has received her Level I Conditioning Specialist in the Pilates for Golf Program.

Alicia Ahrens is a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant with a strong orthopedic emphasis in which she graduated from the Professional Skill Institute in Santa Barbara in 1991.  She received her Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science from Chapman University in 1997 and her Pilates Certification from BASI in 2001.Alicia is a good standing member of The Pilates Method Alliance(PMA) and  The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).  She is currently pursuing her interest in training women during their pregnancy.

Barbara Howell is a good standing member of The Pilates Method Alliance(PMA). Barbara Howell majored in Computer Science at Northrop University, Los Angeles, CA.  She was a dedicated figure skater who retired from competitive ice dancing in 1993. In 1998, following a back injury, Barbara began practicing Pilates and is now enjoying teaching Pilates.  She received her Pilates Certification from Body Arts and Science International, Costa Mesa in 2006.

Amanda Wilhoit  received her Pilates Certification from Body Arts, & Science International (BASI) in Dec 2007.  Along with her passion for Pilates she is currently pursuing a degree in nutrition at CSU-Long Beach.  Amanda is a good standing member of The Pilates Method Alliance (PMA).  

Our instructors maintain their education by attending various workshops and classes to keep current on the Pilates work.
This in turn helps to keep the student/client in the best mental and physical shape we can offer.
